tarde, & cuando llega

nadie sabe qué hacer

primero.

 

Instalar una carpa en tu patio trasero

mientras ellos reconstruyen la casa

puede ser una forma de reivindicar

tu lugar cuando ya no

existe,

 

salvar la cara

cuando has vendido el corazón

a la primera persona

que dice "sí".

Disaster relief is always late

in coming, & when it arrives

no one knows what to do

first.

 

Building a tent in your backyard

while they rebuild the house

might be one way of claiming

your place when it no longer

exists,

 

saving face

when you’ve sold your heart

to the first person

who says “yes.”
