VELA

 

Cuando alguien muere, no es día ni noche.

Y ni tú ni él estáis presentes. Ni aquí ni allá.

Un débil parpadeo sobre la cocina de gas.

 

Sin importancia. Y no vive ni ha muerto,

Lo que ocultas con la palma de la mano.

No pregunta, no da respuestas.

 

No está del lado del bien. No está del lado del mal.

No conoce la mentira, ni la verdad, ni el sentido ni el sinsentido.

No es futuro ni pasado.

 

Es y al mismo tiempo no existe. No es que seas o no seas tú.

No es que no sea por sí mismo o por algo más.

Ni es aire ni fuego. No es luz ni llama.

 

No es abismo ni esperanza. No es sí ni es no.

Cuando alguien muere, alguien aún no ha muerto.

Descendió por el pabilo dentro de sí.

 

Tiendes la mano hacia atrás y lo apagas.

CANDLE

 

When someone dies, it is not day not night.

And no one present. Not here not there.

A small flicker above the gas stove.

 

Unimportant. And it does not live and did not die,

What you conceal with the palm.

It does not ask, does not give answers.

 

It is not on the side of good. It is not on the side of evil.

It does not know lies, not truth, not sense or nonsense.

It is not the future and not the past.

 

It is and at the same time is not. Is not that it is or was not you.

It will not be by itself or something else.

Not air not fire. Not light not flame.

 

Not abyss not hope. Not yes not no.

When someone dies, someone has not died yet.

He climbed down the wick inside himself.

 

You reach behind and extinguish him.

SVECA

 

Ko nekdo umre, a ni ne dan ne noč.

In ne ti ne on nista prisotna. Ne tu ne tam.

Drobno zaplapola nad plinskim štedilnikom.

 

Neugledno. In ne živi in ni umrlo,

Kar čuvaš prikrito z dlanjo.

Ne sprašuje, ne daje odgovorov.

 

Ni na strani dobrega. Ni na strani zlega.

Ne pozna laži, ne resnice, ne smisla in nesmisla.

Ni prihodnje in ni preteklo.

 

Je in hkrati ne obstaja. Ne da je ali bi ne bilo ti.

Ne da bi ne bilo samo ali kaj drugega.

Ne zrak ne ogenj. Ne luč ne plamen.

 

Ne brezno ne upanje. Ne da ne ne.

Ko nekdo umre, nekdo še ni umrl.

Po stenju navzdol je splezal vase.

 

Za njim sežeš in ga ugasneš.
