EN EL ESTÓMAGO DE CIEN PERSONAS
En las mesas, cien platos,
delante de ellos, cien personas,
en los platos, cien lenguados;
el pescado queda reducido a unas pocas espinas, cabezas y colas.
(¡Qué diría la Princesa de las Profundidades al ver esto!)
El centenar de damas y caballeros
se limpian los labios con blancas servilletas y dicen elegantemente
"El mundo ahora es un desastre, ya se sabe."
En el estómago de cien personas
cien peces, todos muertos.

IN THE STOMACH OF ONE HUNDRED PEOPLE
On the tables, one hundred plates,
before them, one hundred people,
on the plates, one hundred flounders;
as the tableware clinks, tinkles,
the fish are reduced to a few bones, heads, and tails.
(What would the Princess of the Deep say to see this!)
The one hundred ladies and gentlemen
wipe their lips with white napkins, and talk elegantly:
“You know, the whole world is a mess now.”
In the stomachs of one hundred people,
one hundred fish, all dead.
