TODOS LOS EJÉRCITOS SON IGUALES...

 

Todos los ejércitos son iguales

Publicidad es fama

La artillería hace el mismo ruido de siempre

El valor es un atributo de niños

Todos los soldados veteranos tienen la mirada cansada

Todos los soldados oyen las mismas viejas mentiras

Los cadáveres siempre han atraído a las moscas.

LA ÉPOCA EXIGÍA

 

La época exigía que cantáramos

Y nos cortásemos la lengua.

 

La época exigía que nos dejásemos llevar

Y hundiéramos el tapón a martillazos.

 

La época exigía que bailásemos

Y nos embutiéramos en pantalones de hierro.

 

Y al final se le entregó a la época

la clase de mierda que exigía.

All armies are the same

Publicity is fame

Artillery makes the same old noise

Valor is an attribute of boys

Old soldiers all have tired eyes

All soldiers hear the same old lies

Dead bodies always have drawn flies

THE AGE DEMANDED

 

The age demanded that we sing

And cut away our tongue. 

 

The age demanded that we flow

And hammered in the bung. 

 

The age demanded that we dance

And jammed us into iron pants. 

 

And in the end the age was handed

The sort of shit that it demanded.
