De acuerdo con Brueghel

cuando Ícaro cayó

era primavera

 

un granjero estaba arando

su campo

toda la pompa

 

del año

despertaba zumbando

cerca

 

de la orilla del mar

pendiente

de sí mismo

 

sudando bajo el sol

que derritió

la cera de las alas

 

a una distancia

insignificante de la costa

se oyó

 

un chapoteo casi imperceptible

era

Ícaro ahogándose

when Icarus fell

it was spring 

 

a farmer was ploughing

his field

the whole pageantry 

 

of the year was

awake tingling

near 

 

the edge of the sea

concerned

with itself 

 

sweating in the sun

that melted

the wings' wax 

 

unsignificantly

off the coast

there was 

 

a splash quite unnoticed

this was

Icarus drowning
