NO TENGAS MIEDO

 

No tengas miedo, niño,

sólo son dos ratones

saltando de la mesa a la silla.

Son más pequeños que tú

y no pueden comerte.

 

No tengas miedo, hijo mío,

es sólo el dedo de la lluvia

dando húmedos golpecitos en la ventana,

no lo dejaremos entrar.

 

Escóndete apretándote contra mí,

soy tu madre.

La negra noche se extenderá sobre nosotros

y nadie nos encontrará.

Don't be frightened, child,

They are only two mice

Jumping off the table to the chair.

They’re smaller than you

And can’t eat you.

 

Don’t be frightened, my son,

It’s only the

rain’s finger

Tapping, damp, on the window,

We won’t let him in.

 

Hide snug in me,

I am your mother.

The dark night will stretch over us,
