solía preguntarme por qué estábamos aquí

yo lo llamaba exilio Ella lo llamaba mi país

Ella dice Si somos mayoría, ¿por qué abandonaste nuestro hogar?

Todas mis respuestas se hundían en sus preguntas

hasta que su país fue arruinado y el mío deportado

MI HIJA DESPUÉS DE LA OCUPACIÓN

 

no conoce a nadie a excepción de su abuela

cuya cara tiene más arrugas que la cara de la ciudad

Y eso es todo lo que necesita saber
